Community Life Fund

Community Life Fund

The Community Life Fund was established in 2015 to support projects which reflect Postcode Community Trust's core themes of:

  • Supporting marginalised groups to obtain skills and resources to effect change in their own communities
  • Overcoming barriers to participation in creative and sustainable ways
  • Increasing social cohesion through developing access to community facilities and activities

Please note that this is a specific, one-off programme of partnerships for organisations with which the Trust already have a relationship and is not open to public applications or enquiries. Any unsolicited enquiries will be directed to apply to the Small Projects Grants or Community Sports programme.

Details of the projects currently supported under the programme are below.

Saints Foundation - Saints4Sports

Saints Foundation received £88,799 from players of People's Postcode Lottery through Postcode Community Trust. This funding will be used to support services for vulnerable adults in and around Southampton, especially those affected by substance misuse, poor mental health and individuals at risk of re-offending. The programme, which will combine sports skills and team activities with employability and training programmes, is designed to help restore confidence and self-esteem.

In addition to this programme, the Saints Foundation funding will also be used towards a minibus, which will enable them to expand their work with their Senior Saints and SaintsAbility+ programmes. These programmes target people who are 65+, who are living in isolation within the local community as well as disabled people.  It will allow them to be transported to various activities, relieving isolation and encouraging disabled people to take part in an innovative disability sports programme.
