Postcode Community Trust was established in 2014 and is governed by an independent board of Directors. The Directors are also responsible for making all funding decisions.
Mike has been CEO of Northumberland Wildlife Trust since September 2005. Before this, he spent 7 years at North York Moor National Park Authority as Head of Information, Education and Visitor Services. He has also worked for Cleveland County Council and the Forest of Dean. Mike joined People’s Postcode Trust in 2012.
Judy currently works as Fundraising Manager for Woodland Trust Scotland and has been raising funds for charitable causes for over 11 years, including MND Association, Diabetes UK, British Red Cross and WWF Scotland. Previous to this, she worked for Virgin Retail Ltd and spent a year teaching Events Management at London Metropolitan University. Judy joined People’s Postcode Trust in 2013.
Rob has spent most of his career working as a BBC journalist making radio and television news and current affairs programmes. A move into the field of communications has seen Rob develop his love of storytelling and building relationships. In his spare time, Rob enjoys supporting his 2 boys in a range of sports, as well as finding time for cycling and hill running.
Aidan works for Royal Bank of Scotland in their commercial and private banking division, based in London. Aidan is a qualified accountant and has a master’s degree in accountancy and finance from Edinburgh University.
Postcode Community Trust is a grant-giving trust awarding funding to charities and good causes in Great Britain. In 2018, we will award up to £3 million and our sole revenue is generated through our society lottery marketed as People’s Postcode Lottery.
Due to changes within the Board of Trustees, Postcode Community Trust is now seeking to recruit an experienced Trustee to provide leadership and direction. The Trustees have overall governance and strategic direction for the charity and work closely with the Executive Manager and the administration team who will implement the Board’s decisions.
Trustee’s responsibilities include ensuring the Board has the appropriate skills mix and that the organisation complies with its governing document, charity law, company law and any other relevant legislation and regulations.
Considerations will be given to candidates from all backgrounds and sectors, but we would particularly welcome candidates who can demonstrate one or more of the following:
- Experience of grant-giving and the charity funding environment
- Experience of one of the following: Health and Social Care, Community Development, Children and Young People, Sports, Healthy Living or Human Rights
- Experience of financial management
- Experience of operating a society lottery including the application of the Licensing Conditions and Codes of Practice
As a Trustee you will demonstrate integrity, strategic vision and good independent judgement. You will demonstrate strong leadership experience along with excellent communication skills. As our revenues are derived from our lottery, you may also be required to hold a personal management licence.
